The wedding day begins long before the bridal party starts their walk down the aisle. In the getting ready portion of the day before the ceremony, there are many opportunities to have some sweet and special memories with your partner and also those celebrating with you. Here are a few of our favorites. First Look(s) A lot of time and care is put into appearances on the wedding day, so why not take some extra special time to enjoy it? You can choose to see your new spouse before you walk down the aisle in a sweet semi-private moment (with your photo and video team there discreetly as well of course. ;) ) And a first look isn't just about how amazing the Bride looks! Grooms look fantastic all dressed up too! For a special moment between the two of you, we suggest staging it so you both see each other for the first time on the wedding day at the exact same time. This can mean closing your eyes and being led to be back to back with each other, or one person walking around the corner of a building. A bonus of first looks, is that it gives you some extra time for photos, without worrying about having to rush off to your reception. If you decide to wait until the cermony to see each other, that's perfect as well! It's a sweet emotional moment that many couples look forward to. Also, first looks don't have to be just for couples. You can have a special first look moment with close family members, a parent or grandparent, or with your bridal party. Letter and Gift Exchanges Have something special you want to say to your spouse before your ceremony? Say it in a heartfelt letter, and have it delivered to your spouse while they are getting ready. If you are comfortable, consider reading it out loud for the video will give us some very sweet bits of audio to put into your wedding film. Other Gifts Before the ceremony is a time where you can tell the ones you love how much you appreciate them and how they have helped get you to this day. This is a good moment to schedule in giving any gifts you have planned to family and your bridal party. Prayers Spending a quiet moment in prayer or being given a blessing over the day with either your partner, or someone close to you a is a beautiful and uplifting memory to have as part of your day. If you want to have a planned moment of prayer, be sure to let your photo and video team know so they can capture it before rushing off to the ceremony. Storytime A fun element we put in some of our wedding videos is a special story-time where we have the couple, separate from each other, tell a little about their love story and how we got to this wedding day. It's a sweet scene to add to your film and a way to share you history with others as you rewatch your film. And those are some of our favorite pre-ceremony moments.
