Today's post is a bit different than the wedding videos I usually share. It's a bit more personal. This post is also going to start with a statistic. 1 in 4 mothers will experience the loss of a child in pregnancy or as an infant. I am one of those woman. And I have gone through it twice. I've experienced both the good and bad for those who have lost their babies. I've been held close and allowed to cry by some of the dearest sweetest souls on earth, and I've also experienced the sting of grieving while with people who could not understand the pain. I've been in the peace and comfort of my home while one baby passed to heaven, and I've also been in a hospital where the staff left me alone for too long in a waiting room where I was sure I was going to be joining my angel babies as well. Each baby is part of my journey and story, and I am grateful that I can openly share that part of my life. I am also grateful that there are no more resources becoming available for families who have experienced or are in the midst of loss. One of these organizations, Forever Footprints, holds annual events in remembrance of the children, and as a way for families to connect with others who have been on a similar journey. They also provide education and support groups. I really appreciated the feeling of hope and joy and love throughout the whole day, and those who were there to offer their love and support. Above is a highlight video of the day. Enjoy! Special thanks to Forever Footprints Keynote Speaker: Kristin Hernandez 2017 Walk Title Sponsor: Jersey Mike's Subs.
